Worldwide inventory of sources for the History of Macau

Since its establishment in 2012, the East-West Institute for Advanced Studies (EWIAS) has prioritized a comprehensive inventory of global historical sources related to the History of Macau, launching an ongoing international investigation that began in 2014.

The International Sources for Macau History Website serves as a catalog of historical documents concerning the History of Macau, sourced from foreign archives, libraries, museums, and various other institutions.

Coordinated by Professors Ivo Carneiro de Sousa

and Richard Whitfield, this website aspires to become

the leading repository of global materials for a New History of Macau.

This website is organized by country and further categorized

within each nation by both public and private institutions,

along with their respective collections.

Sources are arranged in both chronological and alphabetical order.

In addition to providing detailed inventories, this website aims to offer digital copies of the cataloged historical documents, with the legal consent of their public and private owners.
